You can purchase a webcam at any electronics or computer retail store. You can also buy a webcam online at many online retailers. Most webcams hook up to your computer with a USB connection and are also powered by the USB connection. You can buy webcams that mount to your monitor and some computers have one built in.

Mount your webcam in a place where you can easily record with it while it is connected to your computer. You’ll want to make sure your recording area is clean and well lit. Also remove anything from the line of sight of your webcam that you don’t want seen over the internet.

Make sure you turn your webcam off completely when not in use, there have been people who have left theirs on accidentally and broadcast some things that they would’ve rather kept private.

As for software, many webcams come with free software and you can often find free programs online as well.
